Every principle of general farming on our bio-dynamic farms is so devised as to serve maximal functioning of the bio-dynamic preparations. The first sentence of our bio-dynamics association constitution is to that effect. Much of the skills of our bio-dynamic farmers has been to design implements for this purpose. Nearly every farm required somewhat differing implements.
Everywhere we must find the most suitable method and implements. On large grain producing properties, where only the top few inches have seen roots in many decades and where the ‘top soil’ is just dust or a bog, the hard pan has to be penetrated, and the well structured layers below take the ‘top soil’ into this structure, roots follow and there is the chance for new soil development.
The second volume of the bio-dynamic introductory lectures is made up of the lectures given by Alex Podolinsky at the Annual General Meeting of the Bio-Dynamic Agricultural Association of Australia. These lectures continue to discuss Australian bio-dynamic farmers who struggle with real problems and work in the most intense practical way to bring healthy food to the cities and a healing to a scarred earth.
